Terms of Service

Last updated 28 August 2026 · Effective for hexum.dev

These terms govern use of Hexum, the hosted MCP service at https://hexum.dev. Creating an account, minting a key, or calling /mcp means you accept them and the Privacy Policy.

The service

Hexum sits on the MCP path for coding agents. It cuts context sent to the model for a turn and runs a deterministic architecture check against architecture.hexum. It is not an IDE, not a model, and not a substitute for reviewing generated code. You keep your editor, Git, and the models you already pay for.

Account

You need a working email and a password of at least 8 characters. You must be old enough to contract where you live (and not under 16). You are responsible for the account and for anyone who uses your keys. Reset a forgotten password from the sign-in card; we email a one-time link.

Keys

A hexum_live_… secret is shown once. Store it in the agent config, not in a public repository. If it leaks, revoke it in the dashboard immediately. Calls authenticated with that key are treated as yours. When accounts are enabled, POST /mcp and /v1 require a paid plan (Usage or Teams).

Billing

MCP is off until Usage billing is on, or you belong to a Teams plan that has billing on. We charge in euro on tokens saved this period (tokens in minus tokens out). Cache hits that save nothing do not add to that meter. Rates are graduated and published on Pricing:

  • Usage: €0.50 / million for the first 20 million saved, €0.40 for the next 80 million, €0.30 above 100 million. One person, one Stripe customer.
  • Teams: €0.55 / €0.45 / €0.35 per million, pooled across members, no per-seat fee, up to 25 people.

There is no hard cut-off that stops MCP at a euro amount. Usage continues and the bill follows. Cancel or change payment details in the Stripe customer portal. Fees already incurred remain due. Taxes may be added by Stripe where required. A hosted invoice for Teams can be generated from the dashboard when the amount meets Stripe’s minimum (currently €0.50).

Prices on Pricing are early-access introductory rates. We expect to replace them with a higher, simpler model in about a month. Until that is published, the live Pricing page is the contract price for that period.

Refunds and cooling-off

Metered usage already delivered is not refunded. Cancel future billing in Stripe at any time. Full rules, including the EEA/UK 14-day cooling-off period and when it does not apply to digital services that have started: Refunds. By creating an account you ask us to provide the digital service as soon as you turn billing on or use a key, and you acknowledge that you lose the cooling-off right for service already performed.

Teams

The owner (and admins) invite by email. The invited person opens the link and signs in with that same address. Each member mints their own keys and chooses whether a key bills the team or their personal Usage plan. Team-billed usage is pooled on the team invoice. An owner cannot delete the team or their Hexum account while other members remain — remove them first. Invites expire. Billing for Teams must be on before invites and kicks work.

Acceptable use

You will not:

  • attack, scrape in bulk, or overload the service;
  • circumvent billing or share one paid key as a public service;
  • send data you do not have the right to process;
  • use Hexum to break another party’s terms in a way that lands on us;
  • misrepresent the output of hexum_check as a legal or security audit.

Your content

You keep the rights in code and prompts you send. You grant us a limited licence to process them solely to serve that MCP request. We do not train a Hexum model on them. Session memory expires after 15 minutes idle. Zero Data Retention applies to Usage and Teams: ZDR. See also the Privacy Policy.

hexum_check

The check is deterministic on the files in the current session. A pass does not mean the software is correct, safe, or fit for purpose. You remain responsible for what you ship.

Changes and availability

v1 has no uptime SLA. We may change tools, limits, or rates. Rate changes are posted on Pricing and this page. Continued use after the effective date is acceptance. We may discontinue the service with notice on the site.

Warranty and liability

The service is provided “as is.” To the fullest extent permitted by law we disclaim implied warranties. We are not liable for lost profits, lost code, model bills, or indirect or consequential loss. Our aggregate liability for a claim is limited to the fees you paid us for Hexum in the three months before the claim. None of this limits liability that cannot be limited (including death or personal injury from negligence, or fraud). Consumers in the EEA or UK keep rights that cannot be waived.

Suspension and deletion

Cancel billing in the Stripe portal. Delete the account from the dashboard to revoke keys and remove the profile we store. We may suspend keys or accounts for non-payment, abuse, or risk to the service. Stripe keeps invoices it must keep.

Law

These terms are the agreement. If a court strikes a clause, the rest stays. Hexum is hosted in the EU (North Europe). These terms are governed by the laws of Ireland, without prejudice to mandatory consumer protections of your country of residence. If you are not a consumer, the courts of Ireland have exclusive jurisdiction.
